Design starts on day one. We begin in Adobe Illustrator and build from there. By the end of the program, students have learned Illustrator, Photoshop, and more.

Our students design brands, build websites, and host them for real clients. Every project is a real job, from the first meeting to launch day.
Along the way they learn what it takes to work with a client: listening, presenting ideas, taking feedback, and delivering a finished site that people actually use.
WhatWe Do
Students of Web Design & Development are multi-talented. They learn everything from designing a website mockup to writing its content, digital art, coding, and much more!
Developing
Every student learns HTML, CSS, and introductory JavaScript, then builds real sites with WordPress and Divi. In their third year they take the NOCTI, a proctored state performance exam.
Marketing
The first thing students learn to market is themselves! We use LinkedIn to polish our digital footprint, and social media marketing is now part of the curriculum.
Branding
Logos should be SIC: Simple, Iconic, and Consistent. Students critique each other's work as they build complete brands, with style tiles that define a corporate identity.

Students sketch ideas and build mockups. You review the designs and share feedback before anything gets built.

Once the design is approved, students build your site, often on WordPress with Divi so it's easy to update later.

Your site goes live, and we can host it on the BackStacks server with an SSL certificate included.

Questions & Answers
Who builds my website?
Your site is designed and built by students in the Web Design & Development program at BAVTS, under the guidance of their instructor.
How long does a project take?
It depends on the size of the project and the school calendar. We'll give you an estimated timeline during our first conversation.
Can I update my site myself?
Usually, yes. Many of our sites are built with WordPress and Divi, which make editing text and images simple. If that's important to you, let us know when you reach out.
What happens when the students graduate?
Your site doesn't go anywhere. If you host with us, it stays online on the BackStacks server for as long as you renew your hosting.
What's included in hosting?
For $150 a year, your site is hosted on the BackStacks server, with an SSL certificate included.
Do you only build websites?
Not at all. In addition to websites, we offer logo design, brand identity, custom graphics, photography, and social media marketing.
